Don't take my word for it. That's based on the cluster of techie-types and graphic designers who popped into my office last week to get a gander at the newest all-in-one Mac from Apple. Part of it might have been the novelty: Apple unveiled these larger, widescreen iMacs on Oct. 20 and sent one over for review purposes two days later. It's the biggest change for the iMac since it went aluminum-and-black in late 2007.

Hafiz Rizwan Iqbal, an MS CS student at School of Science and Engineering, presented the ıdea of developıng an Arabıc Speech Recognıtıon System whıch would be able to ıdentıfy and correct the mıstakes from a quranıc recıtatıon. His presentation for the Software Project category landed him first position. The Project advisors are Dr. M. M. Awais, Dr. Shahid Masud and Dr. Shafay Shamail.

NASCON 09` was the 8th all Pakistan mega event of its kind staged in the twin cities, Islamabad-Rawalpindi. It encompassed sub events relating to the fields of IT, Engineering, Business and Multimedia. In addition to being an academic oriented event, NASCON, over the years, has evolved itself into a happening event of the Rawalpindi/Islamabad social scene.
